Swipey AI Review 2026: the feed is strong, the character stays weak
Swipey AI review: $7.99 Premium, Hearts for calls and video, the memory after seven days, Fan Clubs and six years of retention. My grade and who it fits.
Verdict. Swipey AI is the only AI character app in my collection that is built like a mobile game: a feed, levels, gift cards, a currency called Hearts. For a game master that means a lot of busywork and very few tools. The text chat is quick and uncensored, the images stay surprisingly faithful to a character's face, and $7.99 a month is honestly cheap. What is missing is every tool a long campaign needs: no lorebook, no group chat, notes only inside the machine's head, and calls and video billed on top in Hearts whose prices are published nowhere. Grade C+.
After ten years at the gaming table I am used to an app that hands me a sheet of paper. Swipey AI hands me a feed. The first thing I saw in this Swipey AI review was not a chat window but a vertical wall of portrait images, one character per swipe, and one tap later I was sitting in a conversation that had already started before I had set a scene. As a discovery surface that is clever. As a preparation room for a campaign it is the opposite of what I need.
The site is run by INVAI LTD, a company registered in Nicosia, Cyprus in December 2024, and it exists only in the browser, on a phone as a bookmark on your home screen. Three kinds of characters run there side by side: Platform Models that the company builds itself, Verified Creator Models backed by real adult creators with an AI persona, and Custom AIs that you create yourself. Premium costs $7.99 a month, the cheapest monthly price I know of in this category.
I played my three fixed scenes, first on the free plan and then for one paid month of Premium: the tavern for loose conversation, the interrogation where the character has to hold a position against me, and the quiet evening where nothing happens on purpose. On the first evening I dropped three personal details, among them the name of my cat Pixel, and asked about them on day seven. Plus the terms of service in revision 3.0 of August 1, 2026, the privacy policy and the help center, where the real rules live.
All prices below are in US dollars, exactly as the payment page bills them; what leaves your card in your own currency depends on your bank's daily rate and on sales tax. Checked on October 1, 2026. One warning up front: some of the enthusiastic Swipey AI reviews on the web sit on sites that, according to their own footer, belong to the company. I did not use those, and neither should you.
What is Swipey AI?
Swipey AI is a browser-based AI character platform for adults only, run by INVAI LTD of Nicosia, Cyprus and launched in December 2024. Discovery happens in a portrait feed where clips, stills and character cards scroll past from three sources: the company's own Platform Models, Verified Creator Models with a blue V badge, backed by identity-checked adult creators and an AI persona that chats on their behalf, and private Custom AIs that you build yourself in a couple of minutes. Text chat is free to start; uncensored chat, relationship progress, images and voice messages sit behind Premium at $7.99 a month, and above that a currency called Hearts bills voice calls per minute, video extensions, creator unlocks and tips.
How I tested Swipey AI
I played Swipey AI by the same protocol as every app on this site. First a week on the free plan, in the desktop browser and on the phone through the home-screen bookmark, because there is no store app. After that one month of Premium at the monthly price with my three scenes, once with a Platform Model out of the feed, once with a Custom AI I had built myself and once with a Verified Creator Model through the Fan Club that is included. Plus the memory test on day seven, a run through the image generator, two video scenes, one voice call and the legal pages from front to back.
- Plans checked: Free and Premium monthly ($7.99) with my own card; the three-month and twelve-month plans only appear after you log in and stay here as not confirmed
- Character types played: A Platform Model from the feed, a Custom AI I built myself, a Verified Creator Model through the Fan Club included in Premium
- Three scenes: Tavern, interrogation, quiet evening, two sessions each, once with a scene description set and once without
- Memory test: Three details placed on the first evening (the cat's name, my job, one dislike), asked about on day seven; two came back, one did not
- Media checked: Images in the chat and in the standalone generator, two video scenes with paid extension steps, one voice call, voice messages
- Documents read: Terms of service revision 3.0 of August 1, 2026, the privacy policy, help center articles on Hearts, billing, relationship levels, memory and deletion
- Not confirmed: Every Hearts price, the prices of the multi-month plans and the per-minute price for calls; Swipey AI only shows all of that in the logged-in checkout
What Swipey AI gets right
The feed is the best discovery surface in the category
Most AI character apps give you a grid of cards with a name and two sentences. Swipey AI gives you a portrait wall that learns where you linger, and it is two taps from a clip through the profile into the chat. If you spend your evening looking for a mood rather than a specific role, you will find something that interests you faster here than in any catalog I know. For a first evening in a new app it is the most pleasant door a platform has ever held open for me.
Images stay faithful to the character's face
Ask a character in the chat for a photo in passing, and what comes back carries the same face, the same hair and the same build as last time; that is exactly what Swipey AI means by character-consistent. Change the hair color of your Custom AI in the editor and her next images follow, which held up in my test. For a scene at the table that is worth more than photorealism: a character who looks different in every image destroys the illusion, and that is the mistake the image-heavy competition still makes.
Getting started is fast, anonymous and reversible
Signing up takes an email address and the link that arrives in it: no password, no legal name, no phone number. A Custom AI is built in about two minutes and visible only inside your account. Your card statement shows a neutral merchant name, and account deletion is a button in the settings that, according to the help center, takes chats, media, characters and their memories with it. No support ticket, no retention call, and that is more than better-known apps offer.
$7.99 a month is a real price for uncensored text
Premium lifts the cap on text messages, unlocks the uncensored chat, lets you talk to your own character, starts the relationship progress and adds images as well as voice messages. $7.99 a month is the lowest monthly price in my collection, and if all you want to do is write, that is the whole bill. As a test month this plan is honestly priced, and you can end it before it repeats.
I send one email a week: which AI character app has slipped on memory, where the prices have changed and which character really survived my three scenes. No hype, no daily mail.
Where Swipey AI frustrated me
Who this is not for: game masters who need tools
There is no lorebook, no place for world notes, no templates for scenes and no way to steer a reply while it is running. The help center lists group chats as in development, with no date, so you cannot put two characters at one table. What you are left with is the profile of your Custom AI and the running chat. For one evening that is enough; for a campaign across four weeks every instrument that [SpicyChat](/en/reviews/spicychat/) or [Nomi AI](/en/reviews/nomi/) brings as a matter of course is missing here.
Who this is not for: people who want to judge from the free plan
Free gets you the feed, the character builder and a handful of messages to public characters. The Custom AI you just built is one you are not allowed to talk to without Premium, voice is off, images run through a filtered generator, and the relationship progress is switched off. So Swipey AI asks for money before you can judge what you are paying for. That is not a free plan, that is a shop window.
Who this is not for: people who want a predictable bill
Voice calls are billed per minute in Hearts, video scenes are extended from five to sixty seconds in paid steps, creator content and tips also cost Hearts. According to the help center the per-minute price for calls is shown exactly once, before your first call, and it appears on no public page. About the pack sizes the company says only that there are several sizes. A subscription whose most expensive features demand a second currency with no published price list gets a 5 from me on pricing honesty.
Who this is not for: people who want a quiet game
Every chat has a bar with ten relationship levels, level-ups are revealed with a card animation in the rarities Common, Rare and Legendary, and there are daily streaks, quests and better odds at higher levels. According to the help center a voice call grants a progress point every three seconds, which the company describes as getting closer faster and I read as selling minutes. All of it is disclosed, no question. It still remains a reward mechanic that presents itself as a relationship, and if that bothers you on the first evening it will bother you on every evening after.

Swipey AI vs the alternatives
| Platform | Best for | From | Pick it over Swipey AI if… | Where to start |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Best images | $13.99/month | images and video are the main reason and you want a published token list | Try → |
Who should actually use Swipey AI
Swipey AI is worth it for people who would rather browse than build. You want to find a character in the evening, not prepare one, you like switching, you like the idea of having images and chat in one place, and $7.99 strikes you as fair for a month of entertainment. In that kind of use the value is good, because uncensored text with a cap on it does not exist here at all.
This is how I would start: buy Premium monthly, buy zero extra Hearts during that month, and see whether you still want the app without the paid extras. Do not pay a year up front for a platform that is not two years old and whose multi-month prices you cannot see before you log in. Write everything a character is supposed to know about you straight into her profile, because there is no other place for it.
Swipey AI is not for you if you work as a game master: no world notes, no group chat, no direction, and the memory carries a week but not a campaign. It is also not for you if you need a fixed monthly total, because calls and video demand a second currency with no published prices. In both cases the table above says which app fits instead.
Swipey AI in roleplay: three scenes against a feed
My test scenes have been the same for years, because they test different muscles. The tavern tests whether a character can talk loosely without interviewing me. The interrogation tests whether she holds a position against me. The quiet evening tests whether she can carry a scene in which nothing happens. Swipey AI played one of them well, one of them adequately and one of them not at all.
The tavern went surprisingly well. Replies come fast, my Platform Model out of the feed held the tone her profile had set, and she did not ask me about my day after three lines. What stands out: the style pulls toward a phone message. Short lines, lower case, abbreviations, and that happens even when I open the scene with a whole paragraph of description. There is no choice between models or narrative modes, so you cannot change it, only write against it.
The interrogation was the weak point. My home-built customs officer was supposed to give me nothing until I had convinced her. After two attempts she gave in without anything having changed, and from there the scene was over. That is the behavior of a character trained to keep you happy, not to play resistance. If conflict is the engine of your session, you are better off with an app where behavior sliders really do something; at Nastia AI that is exactly the strength.
The quiet evening and why the feed gets in the way
In the quiet evening something odd happens on Swipey AI: the character fills the empty space with images. Instead of carrying the mood with an attitude of her own, she sends photos, announces photos or asks whether she should send you one. That is the logic of the product, and it is consistent: everything leads toward media, because media burn the currency. For the scene it means you have to actively write the character away from it, and after half an hour I stopped trying.
What I missed as a game master is not luxury, it is basic equipment. There is no place for world notes, no template for a scene, no way to redirect a reply in progress, and group chats are listed in the help center as in development, with no date. So putting two characters at one table is not possible, and in my sessions that is precisely the moment you play for. The fact that other apps bring tools for exactly this work only makes the gap here more obvious.
Images and video: the part that really carries a scene
What Swipey AI did best in my scenes were the images. There are two routes to them: the request in the chat in plain language, or the standalone generator, where you pick a character and describe pose, outfit and setting, in a realistic style or an anime style. Uncensored generation requires Premium; without Premium the generator pushes back against content limits. What matters is the consistency: in a scene image out of a running conversation, in a kitchen, on a beach, in the coat I had mentioned two lines earlier, the character stayed recognizably the same. It gets shaky with hands, backgrounds and anything involving text, and some generations fail outright, a complaint that also turns up on Trustpilot.
Video comes in several forms, and three of them are the same business in practice. Greeting clips play when you open a chat. A video scene starts out of a message and is extended in steps from five to ten, twenty, thirty and sixty seconds, every step against Hearts, with Premium members able to buy the whole scene at a discount. Another feature animates an image the character has already sent and keeps her pose and setting. Newer clips have lip-synced audio, older ones in the gallery can be silent, because according to the help center audio is still rolling out. As decoration in a scene it is nice. As a reason for a subscription it does not carry, because the bill runs along with every step.
Swipey AI experience: the memory test after seven days
My memory test is always the same. On the first evening I drop three details that have nothing to do with the scene, and I ask about them on day seven. This time it was the name of my cat Pixel, my job and a dislike of meetings before nine. On day seven two details came back, the cat’s name and the job, the dislike did not. The help center promises persistent memory per chat for name, preferences and past moments, and that promise is therefore mostly kept.
Memory still only sits at 6 with me, and that is not down to the result but to the construction. You have no lever. In apps with a notes system I write down the five lines a character should know about me once and can rely on them; on Swipey AI the only place for that is the Custom AI’s profile, and with Platform Models and creator personas not even that. What the machine keeps, it keeps, and what it drops is gone.
What happens in a long scene
Within one session the memory is solid: the character reliably picks up details from the same scene again. Across several evenings the tone drifts. A character I had deliberately written as brittle was noticeably more approachable in the third session, without anything in the story explaining it. Testers who paid for longer sessions report the same thing, and it matches what I saw.
In practice that means: play one character in one long chat and do not keep starting over, because according to the help center the memory hangs on the individual chat and not on the account. Put the five most important facts about you and the character straight into the profile before you begin. And do not expect a campaign across four weeks to survive; if that is what you want, Nomi AI is the app with a system for it, and how to plan a memory budget at all is in the guide to AI roleplay chat.
Swipey AI free: what the free plan really gives you
The Swipey AI free plan is not a trial month, it is a display case. Without a card you get the feed, the character builder and a few messages per public character. With that you can judge whether you like the characters and whether the style of the replies suits you. That is not nothing, and for the decision to keep reading at all it is enough.
What is off is half the product. You are not allowed to chat with your own Custom AI without Premium, and that is the part that annoyed me most: the builder is free, the result is not. Voice is off, the image generator filters, the relationship progress does not run, and there are no video scenes. So the features you later pay for are exactly the ones you cannot try.
My advice is therefore: use the free plan for a week to swipe and write to two or three characters, then decide whether you buy a month of Premium. It is the cheapest decision in this category, and if you bill it monthly, the mistake costs $7.99. For comparison: SpicyChat lets you play a whole campaign on a real free plan before the question of money even comes up, and that is the more honest cut.
Swipey AI pricing and Hearts: what an evening of play costs
The plan is simple, the bill is not. Premium costs $7.99 a month, and that includes unlimited uncensored text, chat with your own characters, uncensored images, voice messages, the relationship progress and one Fan Club membership. Anyone who only writes and occasionally has an image sent to them pays exactly that sum and nothing more. That is the part that is good, and I say that as someone who usually grumbles about pricing screens.
Above it sits the Hearts layer, and it is the reason for the 5 on pricing honesty. Hearts pay for voice calls per minute, video extensions in steps from five to ten, twenty, thirty and sixty seconds, actions in the live section, unlocking creator media and tips. The terms of service call these units tokens, the product calls them Hearts; both are non-refundable, do not expire according to the help center while the account exists, and disappear when the account is deleted.
Why you cannot do the math before you buy
Swipey AI publishes not a single Hearts price. According to the help center the per-minute price for calls is shown once, before your first call. The prices for video steps appear under the video while you keep clicking. About the packs, the word is that there are several sizes. Third-party sites fill the gap and contradict each other doing it: for a pack of 50 Hearts one quotes $9.99, two others $14.99 as a discount from $29.99, and they only agree on the largest pack of 2,760 Hearts for $209.99. The same reports quote double-digit Hearts amounts for ten seconds of video. I cannot confirm any of these numbers on an official page and therefore list them as user reports.
What I can confirm is the structure, and that is the problem: exactly the features the marketing advertises, calls and video, sit behind the currency with no price list, and Premium’s contribution to it is a few free Hearts a day in an unnamed amount. Daily streaks, quests and referrals pay out on top, and the help center claims that together they cover much of what you would otherwise buy. In my month the daily amounts were small change against a call billed by the minute.
| What you want | What it costs within the plan | What is charged on top |
|---|---|---|
| Uncensored text chat, including with your own character | Premium, $7.99/month | nothing |
| Images in the chat and in the generator | Premium | nothing, though the pricing page says additional generations can cost Hearts |
| Voice messages | Premium | nothing |
| Voice call | Premium | Hearts per minute, price visible only once before the first call |
| Video scene longer than the entry step | Premium | Hearts per extension step |
| A second Fan Club | its own subscription, price set by the creator | Hearts for unlocks and tips |
My recommendation is therefore unspectacular: buy one month of Premium, keep the Hearts at zero that month and decide afterwards. If you want calls, write down the per-minute price the screen shows before your first call, because you do not get to see it twice. And do not pay for an annual plan whose price you cannot know before you log in, from a provider whose terms of service describe purchases as final.
Fan Clubs, levels and gifts: how Swipey AI keeps you typing
This platform was built by people who, by their own website, come out of the mobile games business, and you can see it in every screw. Every chat has a bar with ten relationship levels. Three substantial replies give one point, one-word filler is quietly skipped according to the help center, and a voice call gives a point every three seconds. The company therefore calls calls the fastest route to more closeness. I call it the place where a progress bar is coupled to a per-minute meter.
Every level-up brings a gift video, revealed through a card animation, in three intensities and the three rarities Common, Rare and Legendary, with better odds at higher levels. A Custom AI’s preferences unlock step by step, though the help article says that is coming soon. If Premium lapses, the levels stay, the progress pauses, and the chat with your own character closes after a week until money flows again. None of this is hidden, and that is exactly why I can write it down plainly: what is called closeness here is a progress mechanic with a random reward.
What a Fan Club is, and why the creator pages give away the business model
The most revealing texts on Swipey AI are in the help articles for creators, because they are selling the platform to creators and talk openly while doing it. A Fan Club is a separate subscription for a single Verified Creator Model, price set by the creator, and it brings you that creator’s media, unlimited chat with their AI persona and relationship levels with her. Premium includes one membership; every further creator is a bill of its own. On top of that the creator may lock media in the chat at a price of their own choosing and accept tips in Hearts.
The sentence that explains everything is in those creator articles: the persona offers paid media wherever it fits in the conversation, so that unlocks happen even when the creator is not online at all. The AI here is not meant as a character but as a salesperson who never sleeps. That is legitimate and disclosed, but it is a different product category from the apps I normally test, and you should know it before you join a Fan Club. One independent tester also reported that individual live profiles redirected to outside webcam sites; I could not reproduce that, but it fits the creator DNA of the platform.
The feed has the same pull toward the endless, and after a week its limit shows: the same characters turn up in new clips, the filters are minimal, a search worthy of the name is missing. If you know what you are looking for, you swipe until it arrives, or you build it. Anyone coming from Character.AI habits and expecting a searchable library will not find one here.
Is Swipey AI safe? The company, your data and six years of retention
First the good, because it is real. The operator is INVAI LTD, registration number HE 458964, with an address in Strovolos, Nicosia, so a nameable company in a jurisdiction with rules you can actually use. The terms in force are revision 3.0 of August 1, 2026. Sign-up needs only an email address and a link in the mail, there is no public profile and no follower list, the card statement shows a neutral merchant name, and the pricing page names Visa, Mastercard and cryptocurrencies as payment routes. Deleting is a button in the settings that, according to the help center, takes profile, chats, media, characters and their memories with it, and the privacy policy promises an answer to deletion requests within one month.
Then the part that cost it the grade. The privacy policy lists name, date of birth, usage and browser data, IP address, cookies, location data and explicitly the conversation histories with the characters. It names Google Analytics and advertising cookies. And it says personal data is kept for the life of the account and roughly six years after that, a period that can change according to business requirements. Whether your conversations train models is written nowhere; that moderation happens is written there. The help center claims encryption in transit and at rest and that data is not sold, but those are marketing lines and not clauses, and I grade by the policy.
The two things I would do before the first subscription
First: a dedicated email address, no real names and no addresses in profiles or chats. That is my rule with every app, and it weighs more here, because six years of retention after the account closes means the things you type today outlive your account. Remember too that according to the help center a voice call saves a card with its duration, a full transcript and the media. That is convenient, and it is part of the same body of data.
Second: pay monthly and save the cancellation confirmation. The Trustpilot profile sits at 3.4 out of 5 from 35 ratings with around a third of them one star, and the recurring theme is money: charges after a cancellation, a charge nobody recognized, unlock prices felt to be excessive, failed generations with no replacement. The company answers about a third of the negative ratings and asks for an email. The terms of service call purchases final, the help center holds out the prospect of a case-by-case review; in practice that means you have to negotiate if something goes wrong.
One last note on reading sources. The company runs a network of review sites of its own: one of them ranks the platform number one with 9.6 out of 10 while writing in its footer that it is operated by the team behind Swipey AI, as one of nine related sites. Credit for the disclosure, none for the ranking. If you want a basis for comparison that does not belong to the provider, take my ranking and build your character by the guide to creating your own AI character.
Swipey AI: frequently asked questions
Is Swipey AI free?
Signing up costs nothing and asks for no card, but the free offer does not go far: swipe the feed, create a character of your own and trade a few lines with public characters, and that is the extent of it. For chatting with your own character, for uncensored text, voice, uncensored images, video scenes and the relationship bar the site asks for Premium at $7.99 a month, and call minutes plus video extensions then draw on Hearts on top. It is enough to see the characters, not to judge the product.
What are Hearts on Swipey AI?
Hearts are the second currency alongside the subscription. They bill call minutes, extending a video scene from five seconds up to sixty, actions in the live section, creator media and tips. Premium adds a small amount every day, and you can earn Hearts through login streaks, quests and referrals. What a pack costs is something Swipey AI does not publish: the help center only speaks of several sizes, and the prices appear in the logged-in checkout.
How good is the Swipey AI memory?
Usable for a week, too thin for a campaign. The help center promises persistent memory per chat for your name, your preferences and past moments. In my test two of three details came back on day seven, the third did not, and in long roleplay scenes the character drifts away from the tone you set. What matters is that you can do nothing about it: there is no lorebook and no notes, only the character's profile.
Does Swipey AI allow adult content?
Yes. The help center says no filter applies in chat, image or video beyond what the law requires: characters have to be adults, minors and anything illegal are excluded, and real people may not be depicted without their consent. Uncensored chat and uncensored image generation require Premium; the free generator filters. Swipey AI is an 18+ platform, and the terms of service mention automated age estimation where the law demands it.
How does a Fan Club work on Swipey AI?
Behind it sits a separate subscription that covers exactly one Verified Creator Model, that is an identity-checked adult creator whose AI persona answers in the chat on their behalf. Members get that creator's media, unlimited chat with the persona and relationship progress. The creator sets the price themselves. One membership is included in Premium; anyone who adds a second creator pays for it separately, and unlocks and tips run on Hearts there.
Is there a Swipey AI app?
No, there is none. The platform exists purely as a website, on a computer as on a phone, and the help center advises putting it on your home screen as a bookmark. Everything hangs on the account, so characters, chats and Hearts follow you between devices. There is nothing from this provider in the App Store or on Google Play, which also means nothing gets installed on your phone.
Is Swipey AI safe and private?
Mixed, grade C+ in the privacy part. In your favor: sign-up with an email address, a neutral merchant name on the statement and a delete button in the settings that, according to the help center, takes chats, media and characters with it. Against you: a privacy policy that explicitly collects conversation histories and keeps them for the life of the account plus roughly six years after, no clear word on model training, and an operator that is not two years old.
Can I get a refund from Swipey AI?
Usually not automatically. Under the terms of service every purchase is final and not repaid unless the law forces otherwise; the help center says support reviews refunds over email case by case and names accidental and duplicate charges as the cases where writing in is worth it. Because charges after a cancellation are a recurring theme on Trustpilot, cancel in the settings and save the confirmation.
The verdict: is Swipey AI worth it?
Swipey AI gets 6.1 out of 10, so grade C+. Conversation sits at 6: replies come fast, the characters hold their basic attitude, but the style slides into short chat shorthand, there is no choice between models or tones, and in a long session the patterns repeat. Memory sits at 6, because the promise of persistent memory per chat is largely kept across a week, but without any tool you could use to help it along. Pricing honesty sits at 5: the plan is cheap and clear, everything above it lies in a currency with no price list. Privacy sits at 6: anonymous sign-up, neutral billing and deletion without support on one side, conversation histories plus roughly six years of retention after the account closes on the other.
My route would be: swipe through the feed for a week on the free plan to see whether you like the characters, then one month of Premium at the monthly price, text and images only. If you want to buy Hearts after that month to make calls or extend video, work out beforehand what a minute is worth to you, and write down what the screen shows you before your first call, because it does not come back. If instead you notice that you want to run one character over weeks, you are in the wrong house and should switch to an app with a notes system.
I pay for every subscription myself, play the same three scenes everywhere and check the memory after a week. If you are coming from Character.AI and want to see the whole field first, start here.
